Lake Erie Pa walleye report, mid June

After a long winter and chilly spring, Mother Nature is finally warming the cold waters and the Walleyes are turning up the heat!  Mostly inshore, shallow waters are producing good numbers of walleye.  The migration is seeming to develop nicely and it appears to be a banner year similar to 2014's awesome season.  July, August and September should yield some fantastic harvest numbers.  Get the beer batter, it's time!

Reflecting back on the 2015 May lake trout season

If you didn't take part in the Lake Trout fishery this Spring, you missed out bigtime!  Laker fishing this year was a record setting season.  The State Record was nearly broken three times (that I'm aware of) topping nearly 29 pounds on the scales.  Tons of fish were caught (and mostly released).  Ten pounders were abundant.  Giants in the 20 pound range were not uncommon.  Many teens were mixed in as well.  May is the ticket!  Plan ahead for 2016 to enjoy some of Erie's best kept secret.  Capt Steve
